LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian's Happy Engagement News
LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian's happy engagement news has been soured by scathing comments from the actor's ex-wife, who has criticized her former partner for announcing his wedding plans to the world before telling his kids.
The couple became involved back in 2008 while they were both married - Rimes has since divorced dancer Dean Sheremet and Cibrian ended his union to Brandi Glanville. The "CSI: Miami" star sealed his romance with Rimes by proposing over Christmas and she announced the engagement in a post on Twitter.com.
But the news has provoked an angry response from Glanville, who claims Cibrian failed to tell the former couple's two sons about his plans to marry Rimes. In a message sent to Cibrian on Twitter.com, Glanville writes, "Congrats! (Again) Thanku (sic) for announcing this to the press before telling our kids. As u leave 4 vaca (vacation), once again, I got this!"
Embattled Rapper DMX Transferred to A Mental Health Unit
Embattled rapper DMX has been transferred to a mental health unit at the prison where he is currently serving a 12-month sentence for probation violation. The hip-hop star, real name Earl Simmons, was busted by cops at an Arizona club in November after slipping up in his sobriety battle by using cocaine and consuming alcohol during a gig. He was also accused of driving on a suspended licence and failing to check in with his probation officer.
DMX initially denied the allegations, but later entered a guilty plea to a charge of felony probation violation and was sentenced to a year behind bars. At the sentencing hearing earlier this month, Judge Christine Mulleneaux expressed concern he is suffering from an undiagnosed mental condition, and on December 20, DMX was admitted to the Flamenco Mental Health Unit inside the Alahambra Prison complex, reports AllHipHop.com.
He has also been barred from having any visitors for 30 days while he is treated in the unit.
Country music icon Merle Haggard has been given the all-clear after a two-year battle with cancer. The "Okie From Muskogee" singer/songwriter had surgery to remove part of his lung in 2008 and admits it has been a struggle to get his health back.
Haggard, 73, scrapped a series of shows in September, prompting fans to worry his cancer had returned - but he was given a big health boost just before he was feted at the Kennedy Center Honors earlier this month.
He tells RollingStone.com, "It took a long time to get over that surgery. It took the best part of two years and I'm just now feeling like I might be able to reach over and pick up a garbage can with the right arm. They removed an upper lobe of my right lung, and they had to go in underneath my arm. It's quite painful and irritating to have that. You know how tender that is underneath your arm."
"To have that heal up, it takes a couple of good years. I think I'm all right now. I went down and had a check-up just prior to going back for this little gig (Kennedy Center Honors) and I was clear. I didn't have anything, and that's an awful good sign."
Nicole Kidman Wanted to Attend Group Grief Counseling Sessions
Nicole Kidman wanted to attend group grief counseling sessions to prepare for her role in harrowing new movie "Rabbit Hole" - but she was banned from taking part because of strict rules protecting parents. The actress plays a woman who has lost a child in the heartbreaking new film, starring opposite Aaron Eckhart as her onscreen partner.
"The Dark Knight" actor recently revealed he attended a counseling session to help him understand his role as a mourning father, and Kidman admits she wanted to take part in a similar scheme. But actress found she wasn't welcomed into the group therapy.
She tells Watoday.com.au, "I read stuff (to prepare). I tried to go to a grief group but I was told 'No, you're not allowed. You can only step into these rooms if you lost a child.' I totally get it, yet for whatever reason, that rawness was available to me. Maybe it was from giving birth (to daughter Sunday Rose) 11 months prior."
Elton John and David Furnish are now officially first-time fathers. They have welcomed their son, Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, in California on Christmas Day. The baby was born with the help of a surrogate mother, weighing 7 lbs. 15 ozs. and measuring 22 inches long.
"We are overwhelmed with happiness and joy at this very special moment. Zachary is healthy and doing really well, and we are very proud and happy parents," Elton and David say in a statement. And out of respect for the surrogate mother's privacy, the couple tells Us Magazine that they would not be disclosing any further information relating to the surrogacy arrangements.
Elton John and David Furnish, married in 2005 civil partnership in England, had previously shown their interest to become parents. The pair attempted to adopt an HIV positive child from the Ukriane in 2009, but were denied because of Elton's age and the fact that the country did not recognize civil marriages.

If you really want to know what made me fall in love with him was how amazing he was with people, particularly with children."
"Russell has changed his life and wants to help other people change theirs. For all his naughtiness on the surface, underneath he's truly good. My parents adore him. People laugh when I say Russell is a man of God but I'm just waiting for them to see what he does. We have this plan to set up a foundation to help people, feed them, clothe them, give shelter. We don't want to use our fame just to sit on our money on a mountain, we want to do something with it."

He adds, "We were one of those couples who was all about natural birth. We had the right doctor, we had the right doula (birthing assistant) and the right nurse at the hospital. A pal tells In Touch Weekly, "They love coffee, so he sent her 21 pounds of the best Kona coffee available, along with a coffee grinder and a coffeemaker. And he made her a birthday card, as opposed to buying a generic one."
But the Hollywood actor saved the best present till last - showing he was serious about the budding relationship by spending a small fortune on a gift the country sweetheart would treasure. The British beauty has been at the forefront of the modeling industry since the 1990s and has also found success designing for U.K. fashion chain Topshop, but she has set her sights on founding a special training academy for aspiring catwalk stars.
She's adamant posing for snaps isn't as easy as it looks and modeling is an art form which should be taught to young wannabes. She tells Britain's Company magazine, "I think I could definitely open a modeling school."
"Kate's Modeling School? Moss' Models? Put Moss' Models down! You need to see it as a skill. I mean, you can be the most intelligent person in the world, but it won't make you a good teacher. It honestly can be very humiliating. It's not just like, 'Hold your left leg in your hand.' I guess you need to have an eye for art."
Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds Have Proved Their Split
Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds have proved their split is amicable by meeting up for a friendly dinner in New York City, according to a U.S. report. The pair was seen enjoying dinner together at the Blue Ribbon restaurant in Manhattan on Friday, December 17 night, according to People.com.
A source tells the publication, "They were smiling and laughing the whole time. They just wanted to connect and have a friendly chat. They just wanted to sit down together. The tone was light and fun despite the untruths that the media is working up. They aren't reconciling. This was just two people who were married being civil and friendly."
Priscilla Presley Has Paid Tribute to Leslie Nielsen

The actress recalls how Nielsen helped to calm her nerves on the set of the 1988 movie and she'll always remember his sense of fun. She reveals he greeted her for the first time with a fart machine.
Presley recalls, "I didn't know how to react... He saw the look on my face and started laughing. He took his hand from his pocket and pulled out this gadget that he carried with him all the time... his whoopee cushion. That prank broke the ice to a friendship I will always cherish."
But she admits it was tough to keep a straight face on the set of the film, "I usually couldn't get through the first or second take of a scene."

She tells Entertainment Weekly magazine, "I have played people who are mentally ill, or killers, and they're interesting to explore... but with this character, I felt really comfortable. I loved playing her. If someone said to me, 'There's another story, and this same character is in (it),' I would be thrilled."

The British actress/model has been keeping a low profile since the news broke, and on Wednesday, December 15 it emerged "Notting Hill" star Grant - who dated Hurley for 13 years until 2000 - has been offering her his support in the wake of the revelations.
Grant was photographed looking glum and checking his mobile phone messages as he left Hurley's house in west London on Wednesday afternoon. He had spent several hours at the property comforting his ex over cups of tea, according to Britain's Daily Mail.
Former "Little House on the Prairie" star Melissa Gilbert has questioned Miley Cyrus' motives for allowing her pal to film her smoking a bong - insisting the teen superstar "wanted to get caught".
The 18-year-old "Hannah Montana" star sparked outrage last week after film footage of her smoking a huge pipe, allegedly containing the legal high Salvia, hit the web. The video has led to Cyrus being slammed by anti-drugs groups, but Gilbert - who has battled alcoholism and substance abuse issues in the past - is adamant the star meant for fans to see the footage of her intoxicated.
She tells AOL News, "These days, everyone with a cellphone is a paparazzo. How high do you have to be to let a friend film you? I think she wanted to get caught." And Gilbert has her own doubts about whether the substance in the bong was really Salvia. She adds, "That's bulls**t! I think it was marijuana."
Ailing singer Aretha Franklin has returned to her home in Detroit, Michigan after undergoing surgery and is recovering with the help of her family and a private nurse. The music legend had "successful" surgery at a hospital in Detroit last week to treat an undisclosed ailment.
Subsequent reports suggested Franklin, 68, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer - although relatives have refused to confirm the nature of the star's illness. However, Franklin's publicist Tracey Jordan confirms the Queen of Soul was released from hospital earlier this week and is in "great spirits".
And Franklin has released her own statement to assure fans she is being well looked after - and she is already making plans for the holidays. She says, "I've been at home for almost three days now. My family and friends who brought me home are taking great care of me."
"I also have a private nurse who visits on a daily basis. I'm hoping to be strong enough to go out and see the upcoming Sam Cooke play at the Music Hall in downtown Detroit before January 2, as well as a performance of Dreamgirls at the Fox before it closes."
R&B singer Trey Songz has spoken out to publicly dismiss rumors he is gay. The star's sexuality has been subject to speculation over the last year following online gossip about his private life. Songz admits he was stunned when he heard the rumors and he wants his fans to know the truth.
He tells New York radio station Power 105.1, "The first I heard about it was on a blog about a year ago and I remember the actual day because I was with my manager Kevin. He said, 'Did you hear about this?' He said we ignore stuff like that but I was hot (angry) because I love the ladies. What I've learned in this business is that people will make their own reality of whatever they want to."
"What I encourage my fans to do, and people that just have a sensible mind... you can't allow whatever someone else says to be your truth. Just because it's written on an internet blog that has so many viewers or so many hits it doesn't make it true. I just keep living my life, you know the truth always comes to light."

The "Yeah!" hitmaker resumed his U.S. tour with a show at Madison Square Garden, three days after sustaining a minor injury during a gig in New Jersey, which resulted in the cancellation of Saturday's December 11 performance in Virginia.
The singer returned to top form for fans in the Big Apple, but he was left with a red-face during one segment of the show, when he chose one lucky girl to join him in the spotlight for a rendition of his ballad "Trading Places".
Usher teased the excited fan by writhing with her on a couch, but the sexy show went awry when she knocked him in the head with her shoe. However, he laughed off the incident and insisted he was fine, quipping, "We play rough in the bed... We kick each other in the face and all that good stuff!"
Hulk Hogan and Jennifer McDaniel Have Had A Wedding
Hulk Hogan and Jennifer McDaniel have had a wedding that would not be forgettable. A brawl broke out in the middle of their nuptials taking place Tuesday evening, December 14 at their backyard, which happens to be on the beach in Clearwater, Florida.
Fortunately, the former wrestler was not involved in the fight. In fact, the scuffle was triggered when a photographer tried to snap pictures of the pair and a family employee told the snapper to beat it. Hulk and his bride-to-be reportedly were saying their vows while the drama took place.
Cops were called and they arrived before the ceremony was over. However, no one was arrested since no one wanted to press charges and the wedding continued, TMZ reported.
The couple's close friend and lawyer, David R. Houston, said prior to the wedding that "it's going to be a very small, simple civil ceremony. It won't be grand at all." He added, "They are doing this for Terry (Hulk Hogan's real name is Terry Bollea) and Jennifer, to express their love for one another."
A bigger celebration with friends and family is planned by the couple after the ceremony as David stated, "This will be a very private affair just for them today. But they are going to do a ceremonial party after the fact, sometime in the near future with all their friends to celebrate."
Hulk Hogan's marriage with Jennifer McDaniel is the second for him. He previously tied the knot with Linda Hogan in 1983 before she filed for divorce in 2007. The former couple has two children together, daughter Brooke Hogan and son Nick Hogan.
Colin Firth Has Withdrawn His Support for Liberal Democrat Party
Colin Firth has withdrawn his support for Britain's Liberal Democrat party after they helped push through a controversial rise in U.K. student tuition fees. The "Bridget Jones's Diary" actor supported the party's leader Nick Clegg throughout his campaign to become British prime minister in May and was one of the group's most famous celebrity backers.
The Liberal Democrats formed a coalition government with the Conservative party after the election, and recently put forward a huge rise in the amount students will pay for a university education - even though Clegg promised fees would be scrapped if he came to power. The U-turn has seen mass student protests in London, many of which have ended in violence.
Firth insists he is also angry with Deputy Prime Minister Clegg and his party for their changing views - and reveals he has turned his back on them. He says, "I'm without an affiliation now. My compass hasn't stopped spinning. I think it's profoundly disillusioning if you are a student who has registered to vote simply because of what the Liberal Democrats were promising - and many, many did simply because of what the Liberal Democrats had to say about tuition fees and things. It's one of the reasons I went in that direction."
Ke$ha is the latest victim of sex photo leak. A batch of explicit photos have been circulating online, showing a woman who looks an awful lot like the singer receiving an oral sex from an unidentified man.
The particular image is extremely graphic while the other two display the woman kissing the guy and covering her boobs with her hands. The photos allegedly leaked after her computer was hacked. Ke$ha was said one of the celebrities whose personal data was hacked by two German teenagers who want to steal her songs.
Ke$sha's rep has not released any statement, thus the woman in the picture is still a question mark. Last spring, the "Tik Tok" hitmaker was also hit with similar scandal when a set of leaked pictures supposedly showed her having sex. The claim was then busted by Gossip Cop.
Ke$ha herself is unfazed by the scandal which started over the weekend. She was spotted partying in Madrid, Spain following a gig on Sunday, December 12 night.
California Tax Officials Are Chasing The Executors of Michael Jackson's Estate
California tax officials are chasing the executors of Michael Jackson's estate for $131,000 in unpaid bills. In March, staff at the state's Franchise Tax Board filed a creditor's claim with the estate administrators for $1,647.
However, tax chiefs filed an amended claim on Friday, December 10, adding $130,000 to the total amount due. The new amount includes interest and penalties which stem from the 2009 tax year, according to the Associated Press.
It is the latest in a long line of claims from individuals and companies who were allegedly left with unsettled bills following Jackson's death last year.
On another news, TMZ reports that a new finding about the singer's death has surfaced. Another doctor beside Dr. Conrad Murray was reportedly present because there was evidence that certain potent drugs were "prescribed and prepared" for MJ to self-medicate.

The TV titan has enlisted the help of her famous friends for the recordings at Sydney Opera House, but production was halted on Tuesday when Jackman was injured.
The X-Men star swung on a zip line from the top of the building's famous sails, but he failed to stop in time and went crashing into a light. Paramedics rushed to his aid to treat a nasty cut below his right eye, but the actor refused to let the injury slow him down and took to the stage for his scheduled chat with Winfrey as soon as medical staff had stemmed the bleeding.
He told the talk show host, "That was so much fun until the end. I came down waving to everyone, looking over Sydney Harbour, saw my dad, the kids and you, went to pull the brake and then boing... I'm OK... It doesn't hurt."
The Rolling Stones hellraiser Keith Richards is in trouble again. He's been accused of destroying an expensive flower with his cigarette.
The legendary guitarist was reportedly enjoying a smoke at the main branch of the New York Public Library prior to a guest appearance in October this year, and stubbed out his cigarette in a clay saucer holding the plant pot. Staff at the office of Marie d'Origny, deputy director of the Cullman Center, opened a window to ventilate the room once Richards had left - but the chilly air and nicotine smoke caused the orchid to wilt and die, according to a blogger.
But d'Origny is unlikely to complain to the rocker's reps about his behavior. Before leaving the building, Richards signed the saucer as a memento of his visit.
Prince Charles Entertained by Kylie Minogue and Cheryl Cole
Kylie Minogue, Cheryl Cole and Take That took to the stage at the U.K.'s Royal Variety Performance on Thursday night, December 9 to entertain Prince Charles, shortly after his car was attacked by protesters. The heir-to-the-British throne and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, were being chauffeured to the Palladium Theatre in London to attend the annual event when unruly student demonstrators ambushed their vehicle during a violent protest against a rise in university tuition fees.
The couple was unharmed in the incident, which saw their car pelted with eggs and paint and kicked by protesters, but they were left visibly shocked by the onslaught. The royals refused to let the attack keep them from the show and they carried out their duties by greeting the night's performers, including Minogue and recently reformed five-piece Take That, who sang two songs at the event.
During the glitzy bash Girls Aloud star Cole performed her new solo track "The Flood", while British hip-hop trio N-Dubz made their Royal Variety debut. Tenor Russell Watson sang a rendition of "Parla Piu Piano", best known as the love theme from "The Godfather", while former Kinks frontman Ray Davies also performed.
Winona Ryder Refuses to Date Anyone Outside of The Movie Industry
Winona Ryder refuses to date anyone outside of the movie industry because she mistrusts "normal" guys. The Edward Scissorhands beauty has been linked to a number of famous hunks over the years and was engaged to Johnny Depp in the early 1990s.
And Ryder admits she is reluctant to become involved with anyone who isn't part of Hollywood after a chance encounter with a fan left her "mistrustful" of men and their motives. She tells Elle magazine, "I remember being at this bar called Tosca in San Francisco, and I met this guy one night. He was really cute, and we were talking, and then, like, he just said something about how he had always had a crush on me. And I was suddenly mistrustful about why he was talking to me. I wanted to be just a normal girl flirting with a normal guy."
"It's like you meet people, and they know this stuff about you. It's why you want to meet somebody who's in the same business, only because they understand more. But you don't necessarily want to be with another actor."
Hollywood actress Halle Berry stunned U.S. TV audiences on Thursday, December 9 night by faking an orgasm on "The Jay Leno Show". The Oscar-winner sexed up the chat after handing the host a tub of her favorite popcorn brand, which she described as "orgasmic".
She said, "I have some Garrett's popcorn, this is the best, they make caramel corn cheese mix. I can polish off that (tub) in one movie, you have to take a caramel and a cheese together, it's a mix - it's orgasmic."
Leno replied, "It's orgasmic?" before pouring the tasty treat into her cupped hands, as Berry noisily faked a climax. Before the situation got too steamy, Leno cut the show for commercial break while continue eating the popcorn.
Nick Cannon Denies Wife Mariah Carey Pregnant with Twins
Mariah Carey's husband Nick Cannon has laughed off rumors his wife is pregnant with twins - insisting the singer simply made a slip-up in a recent interview. The pop superstar announced earlier this year she is expecting her first child with the rapper/actor in the spring.
Reports suggesting Carey is expecting a double bundle of joy later emerged after the "Hero" hitmaker referred to her baby as "they". But Cannon has now explained the slip, insisting Carey was just being careful not to mention the baby's sex - because neither of them knows what gender it is.
He tells Access Hollywood, "That (twins) rumour came from an interview Mariah did where she was talking about her Christmas album and how she's been singing so much, and she referred to her stomach as 'they'."
"She said, 'I hope they don't hate Christmas.' From there we heard all of these twin rumours... But we want to be surprised (about the sex of the baby). We were told that it's going be one of the biggest surprises of your lifetime to see what the sex of the baby is, so, we're trying to wait. But you never know."
Blake Lively And Ryan Gosling Have Reignited A Dating Rumor Between Them
Blake Lively and Ryan Gosling have reignited a dating rumor between them. After denying they were on a date earlier this year, the two were spotted together at the screening for Ryan's film "Blue Valentine" at the Museum of Modern Art in New York on December 7, E! Online reports. Blake, who skipped the blue carpet arrival and entered the venue through a side door, reportedly was by Ryan's side all night.
After the screening, Blake and Ryan were seen at the afterparty at the Standard Hotel where they seemingly enjoyed each other's companion. "They weren't obviously all over each other, but it seemed like they were together," a fellow celebrating source says. "There were times when they would be sitting down and he would kind of lay his hand on her knee. They were smiling, laughing, they looked happy!" They, however, didn't leave together, the source adds.
Blake and Ryan were first spotted together in October at Disneyland. While the blonde beauty's representative denied they had a special relationship, she announced her separation from boyfriend Penn Badgley, who is also her "Gossip Girl" co-star, two weeks later.
Oprah Winfrey Laughs Off Reports She's Split from Her Longtime Partner Stedman Graham
Media mogul Oprah Winfrey has laughed off reports she's split from her longtime partner Stedman Graham, insisting he's still the love of her life. The TV queen began dating the businessman in 1986, but he has been notably absent from her side at public events in recent months, sparking rumors they are no longer together.
But Winfrey, who has had to fend off long-running rumors of a same-sex relationship with her best pal Gayle King, is adamant Graham is her only romantic interest. And she is in awe of how he has managed to deal with her superstardom throughout the years.
In a TV interview with revered U.S. newswoman Barbara Walters, Winfrey says, "Yes. (He's) the love, the lover, the man, the mate (in my life). I cannot say that I know of another man on this planet who could have lived this life with such dignity, such grace and such respect and humility and still hold his own and be his own."
A "Barbara Walters Special: Oprah, The Next Chapter" will air in America on Thursday, December 9.
Taylor Swift went from a girl who used Sharpie marker pen to line her eyes to a girl who knows how to appear attractive with light make-up. Swift is the face of CoverGirl's new line NatureLuxe, appearing in both its printed and TV ad.
Wearing a floaty green dress, the singer introduces "a breath of fresh air" and floats here and there to represent the products which are designed to be lightweight. The new CoverGirl line which uses cucumber extract, will be available starting January 2011.
"I'm really excited for people to discover the new NatureLuxe line from CoverGirl!" she says in a press release, adding "The Silk Foundation and Gloss Balm are really light and fresh, they feel amazing on my skin."
Swift once admitted to using pen for a make-up. "I was on a plane to Japan about two years ago and I had no makeup with me, so I went into the bathroom and I used a Sharpie to line my eyes," she recalled. "From that point on I started using liquid liner because I realized it was obviously pretty easy for me to do!"
